Session Information

Dave Grohl would continue touring hard with Scream through 1989, returning home whenever possible to take a breather, often also dropping by Laundry Room Studio. As well as recording their own original material Grohl and Jones would occasionally come up with suggestions of songs to cover, just for fun. One such recording in October 1989 was what Jones describes as a “rock version” of the Vince Guaraldi track ‘Linus And Lucy’. The original was first released by Guaraldi in 1965 with his band the Vince Guaraldi Trio but is perhaps better known after featuring in many Peanuts cartoons, such as a Charlie Brown Christmas. Grohl and Jones’ version recorded at this time has never been released although Foo Fighters did cover the song many years later, during an appearance on the show Saturday Night Live in 2017.
